How We Can Help

MASTERING MEETINGS

Just 11% of meetings are considered productive and yet middle managers spend more than a third of their time in meetings. Upper management and CEOs spend 50%-75% of their time in meetings.

Most meetings devolve into either boring information dumps or status reports that could have been an email, or they become a hodgepodge of numerous topics all thrown together into one pot...meeting stew, if you will.

There is a much better way!

WORKING GENIUS WORKSHOP

According to Harvard Business Review, 75% of cross-departmental teams are dysfunctional. Gallup estimates that $8.9 Trillion is lost in global GDP due to low engagement. And business units with engaged workers have 23% higher profit compared with business units with miserable workers.

Have you ever noticed that some parts of work are energizing and you could go all day, while others drain your batteries in a hurry? The Six Types of Working Genius model has become the Language of Teamwork. Learn the language and create more energized, productive and effective teams filled with engaged and collaborative employees.

About

Why I'm Passionate About Team Leadership

Hello! I’m Ajarn* Mark Caldwell.

While I was climbing the corporate ladder in IT, moving from individual contributor to manager and on to director, I discovered two very important things:

  1. My degree in business had prepared me well to analyze businesses, but not to lead people.

  2. There are a lot of really bad examples of how to lead people in the IT business.

This realization led me to strike out on my own search for learning a better way, which included studying the works of leadership guru and author John Maxwell, teachings by Simon Sinek, and the works of organizational health expert Patrick Lencioni and The Table Group.  As Simon says, I was trying to become the leader that I wished I'd had.

After taking this learning back to my teams and implementing it with fantastic results, I knew that I had to share it with others who were feeling the same way, and Ajarn Academy was born. Now certified as a Working Genius Facilitator from The Table Group, and also a Maxwell Leadership Certified Team Speaker, Trainer, and Coach, it is my mission to share a better way of leading teams with SMB's everywhere.

*Ajarn is a Thai- and Lao-derived term that translates as "professor" or "teacher".
